Ed Gandia
In only 27 months — and while holding a demanding
full-time sales job — Ed took his part-time freelance
business from zero to a six-figure income. He grossed
$163,181 in his first year as a full-time copywriter
without sacrificing his paycheck or putting his family’s
financial future at risk.
Ed attributes much of the reason for his successful
transition to his 11-year sales career in the high tech
and industrial arenas. During that time, Ed built and
managed several challenging sales territories for
demanding sales organizations.
Working in results-oriented environments forced him to
become more methodical and sharpen his strategic
thinking. It taught him how to start and grow a business
from scratch. And it helped him develop the
self-confidence and work ethic necessary to succeed as a
freelancer.
Since 2004, Ed has written copy for more than two dozen
clients, including Autodesk, CDC Software, Aldata
Solutions, Demand Management, ToolWatch, Active
Compliance and Language Analysis Systems (now part of
IBM).
His work and insights have been profiled in publications
such as DM News, White Paper Source, the Copywriter’s
Roundtable, the Well-Fed ePub, Freelance Switch,
Freelance Folder and many others.
Ed is the author of “Stop Wishing and Start Earning: A
Low-Risk Plan to Escape 9-5 and Launch a Profitable
Copywriting Business” and the editor of “The Profitable
Freelancer,” a free biweekly e-newsletter that helps
both working and aspiring freelancers across all
professions launch, run and grow their businesses
profitably.
